The whirlwind continues....

Can you believe it??? We have sold everything except the house and our personal vehicles! Davids’ motorcycle was the last to go and a gentleman from Petoskey came down to pick it up yesterday. We had our last sale and all that remains is on the way to Goodwill. It’s hard to believe but we don’t have much left. We have only the bare necessities in the house. When I look back as we worried about when or if things would sell, I see that as soon as we surrendered and stopped fretting, God took care of it. Why do we worry? We know God placed us on this journey and He has taken care of all our needs, why would He stop now?

We have been traveling so much, we were invited to participate in the missions convention at Community Wesleyan. What a great weekend! Friday night was a wonderful banquet and on Saturday afternoon they tried something new called “Meet the Missionaries”. A few families opened their homes and members of the congregation were invited to travel to the different homes and spend one on one time with the missionaries. We had a great time of fellowship.Later that evening we participated in a mission rally and dessert. It was wonderful to stay with our good friends, the Judkins, and share our mutual love for Zambia!

Sunday morning we hit the road and traveled to Flint First for morning service. Flint is where our pastor, Rick Deisler, started his career and so many people remembered him and his family. It was like old home week! Pastor Don Hodgson, the assistant pastor, was part of Pastor Ricks’ youth group. What a small world!! We had a great time sharing and the congregation was so friendly.

Last week we travled to Burnips Wesleyan in the West Michigan district. The town is very small but the church was packed with 300 people. It was great to see what God is doing in that community. We shared lunch with Pastor Steve Jones, his wife Beth and their eight sons after service Sunday. What a joy that was, the kids were funny, bright, well behaved and we had a wonderful time!

The Johnsons spent another day with us a few weeks ago. Jeff reviewed the schedule of teams due in Zambia during 2008. Currently we will be hosting at least 19 teams that will be traveling to Zambia to work with the Orphan trust program. We are scheduled to leave the states in early January. If all our funding is in place, we will arrive in early January and the first team will follow us in three days. It is so exciting. We are continuing to immerse ourselves in learning all we can about the Zambian culture. Jeff has told us that the staff at WHIZ is very anxious to meet us. We can hardly wait!

Mom is in her last days of life here on earth and is ready for the Lord to take her. God is so good, I’m so grateful I’ve been able to spend this time with her. Our oldest son Chad is due home from Colorado next week to spend some time with mom and us. My sister is coming home from California and we will take turns staying with mom until she moves to the hospice center.

Our first grandchild, a GIRL, is due very soon. We are thrilled we will be here to welcome her into this world. Having all boys, we are so excited to have a girl in the family! What an awesome God we serve, He changed our timing so we may share in the beginning of a new life here on earth and the beginning of moms’ eternal life.

Our prayer partner list continues to grow and we have had a number of new financial partners join our team! We are close to 65% of our target goal. Our prayer requests include my mom (that her passing be as pain free as possible), our granddaughter arrives safe and healthy, our house sells and we continue to be strong and healthy. We have seen over the last few months just how powerful prayer is! Thank you for your continued support!
