Day two - Zambia

Just a quick update to let you know we have arrived safely. The time change is hard and we are tired but happy. We are staying in Lusaka until Friday morning when we will travel four hours to our home in Choma. Then we will meet with a team from the Virginia and travel to a village Friday afternoon. Nothing like starting work right away!

God is amazing… He knew we would need to be here because our luggage did not arrive until one to two days after we did. We are still missing one piece but trust it will arrive. If we would have gone to Choma immediately we would have had to return to Lusaka at a later date to pick it up and that is very expensive.

We purchased cell phones and a bed yesterday. That was quite an experience since the exchange rate is 3780 to 1. Their currency is Kwatchas and when we exchanged our US currency we received bundles of Kwatchas. It’s like being a millionaire!

David is like a new man since he has left his job. He is so relaxed and peaceful and a new side of him has come out, he talks constantly. He spent most of the time on our plane rides talking to people about our work. For those of you who know David, you can appreciate what a change this is.

We feel a peace that is amazing. We’re very excited to see our home, the WHI staff said they cleaned it from top to bottom in preparation for our arrival.

Many may remember how we shared our feelings about how we would feel our first morning when we woke up in a new country.. It was so peaceful, David and I lay in bed watching the sun come up and spoke of how excited we are to begin Gods’ work We are so grateful for safe travel and protection and for all of you as we could sense your prayers. Thank you and God bless you!
