Final edition of the Michigan/Sierra Leone Tribune

Good morning!

Words cannot express our profound gratitude for the out pouring of prayers and financial support we have received the last few weeks. By totaling our faith promises and monies received to date.... we are leaving! "on a jet plane.. don't know when we'll be back again"... (oops sorry just so excited:) this Saturday for Sierra Leone! It is an honor to have so many partners behind us, who not only have such a strong belief in missions but that step out in faith and support the work through prayers and finances. We are truly blessed!

Needless to say, we are slightly frantic..packing and getting ready to say our goodbyes. Goodbyes aren't easy and now with another beautiful grandchild, it's tough. We've spent a few wonderful weeks trying to keep up with our granddaughter, Mia. She is such a joy, I love being reminded what the world looks like through a child's eyes. Each new thing or experience brings a sense of wonder and awe to her. We were also able to spend time with our new grandson, Dayton. He's a month old now and growing like crazy. He is the cutest (of course) ever and if you want to see, check out my face book page or our website www.thewattersfamily.blogspot.com.

We continue to marvel at Gods' timing... we discovered last week that the first shipment of barrels we sent back in August had been delayed in Spain.
Yesterday we received word that the barrels will arrive in Sierra Leone the day after we do. These barrels contain the majority of our household possessions. Please pray that they aren't tied up in customs long.

Having been the "worrier" in our marriage, God must have been smiling these past years as I've continued to learn to trust in Him. I remember when we were preparing to leave for Zambia, our first assignment, I was so worried about everything. Would our funding come in, would we "fit" in, how would we display Gods' moving in our lives? I woke very early this morning, my mind racing but not with apprehension or concern but with wondrous anticipation. We can't wait to see what God has planned, being part of the unfolding "mystery" each day brings on the field. Excited to meet new friends and co-workers and settle in our home. So grateful....

Would you join us in prayer for the following?
Traveling mercies
Comfort for our family and friends we leave
Smooth transition to our new home
Opportunities to build new friendships and share His word
Customs will quickly clear the shipment of barrels

Just think.... next Wednesday morning we'll be waking up in a new country and a new home! The new experiences that await...and they wouldn't be possible without you. Again, we thank you.

Blessings,
David and Beth
