THANK YOU! GRACI! TWALUMBA!
You are awesome and we feel so blessed by the response to our last email, we are “almost” completely funded. Our goal is only a few thousand dollars away. We are scheduled to leave on Tuesday, May 18th at 7 AM, please help us with this final push to 100%.
God has been carrying me these past few weeks.. He has comforted me as I struggle with the idea of not having a place to live when we first arrive in Haiti. When I look back and see that he has been with us every step of the way the last three years, why wouldn’t he provide now? It is all in his time, not mine. It’s comforting to know that right now he is making the way for us.
Since our return from Colorado we have been able working on our last minute preparations including final Dr. visits and vaccinations. One important things we learned during training was how to say goodbye to people. Simple concept but something most of us don’t do well. We’ve spent the last 10 days with friends and family saying goodbye. Tonight our granddaughter, Mia spends the night for the last time before we leave and we can’t wait! She is such a joy and we’ve learned to appreciate the time with her, not dwell on the time we’ll be gone. We spent time with our oldest son, Chad while in Colorado. He’s doing so well and we had a wonderful visit. The last week we’ve spent lots of special time with our two younger sons, Josh and Nick. This weekend will be devoted to more family and friends. God has brought some amazing people into our lives!
The missionary training was phenomenal! We were blessed by the relationships we built with our fellow attendees and methods learned to handle life in another country. The three weeks covered various aspects of our lives - spiritual, cultural, personal, lifestyle changes and much more. We had a personal coach that met with just us weekly to help us through transition and met twice weekly with growth groups of women/men for myself and David. Our coaches, Robin and Tim were phenomenal! After training was complete, we drove up to South Dakota and spent time with our great friends at Countryside Church. Great services and a wonderful brunch with many good friends we met in Zambia, they truly made us feel so welcome. Driving through Wyoming, home of rolling hills, cows and what seemed like very few people, I marveled at how beautiful the open spaces were and even saw cowboys herding cows through the hills. It was great, like watching an old western! We now feel spiritually and emotionally refreshed and can’t wait to get to doing Gods’ work!
Please continue to lift us in prayer these last few days as we pack up the apartment and finish our goodbyes and head on to the next stop on “Gods’ personal tour for the Watters family”. Not to sound redundant but we never forget that without you none of this could happen, our gratitude for your prayers/support is never ending. We are so excited! We look forward to seeing many of you there. Next stop Haiti…
Blessings,
David and Beth
